DRI / SSA Job Demands

The Social Security Administration has historically used the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT), a Department of Labor (DOL, 1991) document and its companion volume, Selected Characteristics of Occupations, as its primary source for medical-vocational information to be used in the sequential disability determination process. However, the fast changing nature of the national workplace and economy has made it a challenge to keep these documents current. ALG is teaming up the SSA and the DRI to determine if data mining and analytical methods could build a more comprehensive and accurate DOT and DOL.

REVEAL

REVEAL is a sophisticated system for interactive analysis of large information sources such as the web or other large distributed information stores. It is a collaborative fusion of three existing technologies under development at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
